Every week of the year

Holy days are kept as they fall and are announced in the notices. On Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday the pattern changes completely — see the church year.

The shape of the Parish Eucharist

Seventy-five minutes, in this order, every Sunday.

The Gathering. A hymn, a greeting, and the prayer of preparation. You will be handed a book and a sheet; the sheet tells you everything the book does not.
The Liturgy of the Word. Two readings and a gospel, then a sermon of about twelve minutes.
The Creed and the Prayers. Said together. Saying nothing is a perfectly ordinary thing to do.
The Peace. People shake hands. It lasts about ninety seconds and you may simply nod.
The Eucharist. Bread and wine. Come up for communion or for a blessing — bring the book with you and nobody will need to ask which.
The Dismissal. A final hymn, and coffee at the back for as long as anyone wants it.

The daily office

Said whether or not anyone comes, which is rather the point of it.

Morning Prayer at 8.30 and Evening Prayer at 5.30, Monday to Friday, in the Lady Chapel. It takes twenty minutes and consists mostly of psalms.

You do not need to know what you are doing. Sit at the back, take a book, and join in or don't. Some weeks there are eight of us and some weeks there is one.
