Safeguarding
Everyone who works with children or adults at risk across the five parishes is DBS-checked and trained, on a three-year cycle. Two adults are present at every activity.
Concerns go to the Benefice Safeguarding Officer, who is independent of the ministry team and does not report to the Rector. Their details are on this page and in the porch of every one of the five churches.

How a benefice works
Five parishes, five churchyards, five sets of accounts and one ministry team. Each church keeps its own Parochial Church Council and its own money; what they share is clergy, a rota and a safeguarding policy.
It means no church here is a branch of another. It also means that on any given Sunday most of them are shut, which takes a while to get used to and is the reason this website leads with a timetable rather than a photograph.
