What your giving actually pays for
The heating bill, the organist, and the food pantry in the undercroft. Here is the whole picture.
Give online
Once, or every month
About four fifths of what we receive comes from people who give a fixed amount each month. That regularity is what lets the treasurer plan rather than hope.
Nothing here is compulsory and nobody will follow up on what you give. Giving is between you and God; the parish just needs to keep the lights on.

Other ways
Not everyone wants to give online
- Standing order
- The simplest option for regular giving, and the cheapest for us — no transaction fee at all. Ask the office for the form, or set it up in your banking app with the details on the back of the pew card.
- The plate
- Cash and cheques are collected at the offertory at both Sunday services. Envelopes are in the porch if you would like a record kept.
- Gift Aid
- If you pay tax, Gift Aid adds 25p to every pound at no cost to you. One form covers everything you give from now on. It is worth roughly £14,000 a year to this parish.
- A gift in your will
- Legacies have paid for the organ, the roof and the accessible entrance. If you are considering one, the churchwardens would be glad to talk — and will not press you.
- Giving to something specific
- The food pantry, the fabric fund and the choir all take restricted gifts. Say so in the reference and it goes there.
