A congregation of about two hundred, in a plain brick chapel built in 1841 by people who had been meeting in a barn.
The building
Plain on purpose
Built in 1841 by people who had been meeting in a barn, and extended twice since without ever becoming beautiful. There is no stained glass and there never was — clear windows, whitewash, and a gallery on three sides.
The baptistry is under the floor at the front. Most visitors do not notice it until somebody lifts the boards.
Who does what
Dan Isibor
Pastor. Preaches most Sundays. In the office Tuesday and Thursday mornings and happy to be interrupted.
The elders
Four of them, elected by the members. They share the preaching, the pastoral visiting and the decisions the members' meeting does not take.

Safeguarding
Everyone who works with children or adults at risk here is DBS-checked and trained on a three-year cycle, and two adults are present at every activity. The policy is reviewed annually at a members' meeting, which means the whole church has read it.
