Free, every day, nine until six. Two free tours, guides on duty, and nobody who will ask you anything.

Residents of the parish go up the tower free on production of anything with their address on it. Nobody has ever been challenged hard about this.

- 7.30 Morning Prayer Service In the Lady Chapel. Anyone may join; most days it is five of us
- 9.00 The doors open Admission free. Guides on duty from half past nine
- 10.30 Guided tour Free, about fifty minutes, from the west end. No need to book
- 12.30 Holy Communion Service Twenty minutes, in the nave. Visitors are welcome to stay or to carry on looking
- 1.10 Lunchtime recital Wednesdays only. Free, with a retiring collection
- 2.00 The tower opens 212 steps. Ticketed, last entry 4.30
- 5.30 Choral Evensong Service Forty-five minutes, sung. Nothing is asked of you and you may leave when you like
- 6.00 The doors close The Minster Yard gate stays open until dusk
Getting here
By car
There is no Minster car park. Marygate (YO7 2LT) is six minutes' walk and the park-and-ride from the A19 drops at the bottom of the Yard.
DirectionsBy train
Ravensthorpe station is twelve minutes on foot and signposted the whole way. The walk up Kirkgate is the view the town is known for.
Access
Step-free throughout the nave, quire and transepts. Accessible WC by the north door, hearing loop, large-print and braille guides, and a touch tour by arrangement. Wheelchairs to borrow at the welcome desk.
Groups and schools
Groups of ten or more are asked to book, mostly so a guide is on duty and so two coaches do not arrive at once. There is no charge.
Schools are free and always will be, including the tower. We run sessions on the Middle Ages, on stone and on stained glass, and the education team would rather have a class of thirty than a coach of adults.
