Who is who
The people you will meet
One paid pastor, four unpaid officers and a part-time secretary. No staff photographs in soft focus; these are the people who will actually answer the telephone.
PolityHow decisions get made
Acts 6:1-6
The elders lead and teach. The deacons look after money, mercy and the building. But the members decide — on the budget, on calling a pastor, on receiving and releasing members — at a members’ meeting, by a show of hands, four times a year.
Minutes are kept and are available to any member who asks. This is slower than the alternatives and we think it is worth it: a church that cannot be argued with in public tends to stop being argued with at all.
